So yes I am a little slow and I do realise lent started on Wednesday (only clicked that on Wednesday!) but this year instead of giving up the normal sweets/fizzy drinks/chocolate I thought I would give something else a go – challenge myself and hopefully see some big changes!
What does it Involve?
So firstly as I am trying to promote healthy and balanced lifestyles I thought why should we cut a single food group or item out – after all I don’t know about you but this just leaves me most of the time swapping it for something equally as naughty like when I gave up chocolate and instead ate silly amounts of ice-cream.
So instead lets focus on health, nourishing our body’s and getting active even just for 10minutes a day, it beats nothing and 10minutes every day = 60mins/week = 240mins/month – think what you can achieve in that!
In next 43 days before the end of lent I will provide you with mini challenges, quick 10minute workouts, new recipe ideas and fitness tips and tricks of the trade!
How do I get involved?
So to join in add me as friend on snapchat [sineadcmcgill] where I will document my whole journey with recipes, workouts, fitness tips and of course the odd unfiltered sweaty selfies (apologies now for that one!) and will also post snippets of this on my Instagram @scm.fitness.
Anyone can get involved and the more the merrier – I love social media but often it can become quite impersonal and whilst I try to follow your journeys too and comment back, I am only human and do miss bits and think this would be a great way to connect with likeminded people and all achieve together that dream of a healthy fit lifestyle in a body we love!
No more yoyo dieting, quick fixes, starving yourself or gym sessions leaving you knackered and drained (unless you like this of course) we should be able to enjoy what we eat, making sensible choices and do exercise because we enjoy it not because someone said it was the greatest exercise or the only way to burn fat – there are lots of different ways to get healthy and fit so lets find the best one for you!

2. Enjoy food
3. Learn to love your body
4. Live and laugh everyday
So whilst this may seem a fairly vague challenge our emphasis is on healthy and happy and as I said there is no one way to do it and whilst I could real of a list of points I like to think of this as a dripping tap – slowly drip feed information, tips and advice and look back 43 days from now (end of lent) and see how much you know and how far you have come.
Information overload is often the reason we quit or feeling of failure because we have taken on too much, fail at one thing and feel like we have failed it all – bit by bit we will do this and you will look back on this day and be so glad you did – lets do this, TOGETHER
